Afghan women flying high

To mark International Women’s' Day, an all-female airline crew took to the skies in Afghanistan, for the first time ever.

The Boeing 737 flew from Kabul to Herat on Kam Air, a privately-owned local airline.

Kam Air's first female Afghan pilot, Mohadese Mirzaee is just 22-years-old.

She was joined by Captain Veronica Borysova in the cockpit. The event was kept secret due to safety concerns in the country,

but one aviation journalist, Josh Cahill was invited to witness the historic trip and joined us to chat about the experience.

He says the event took place in a country one would least expect it to and had a beautiful message to mark International Women’s Day.
