Unpacking the outcomes of the ANC's NEC meeting

ANC President Cyril Ramaphosa says the party's National Executive Committee has instructed suspended Secretary-General Ace Magashule to publicly apologise for issuing an ‘unacceptable’ suspension letter to Ramaphosa or possibly face disciplinary action.

Ramaphosa delivered the closing remarks of this weekend's NEC meeting today.

It was a rather fractious meeting marked by suspensions and members being asked to leave meetings.

Sanusha Naidu a research specialist with the Institute for Global Dialogue joined us to chat about the outcomes of the meeting.

She says the NEC had no choice but to send a strong message with regards to the Magashule matter.
