Arms Deal Inquiry judges face investigation

The conduct of judges Willie Seriti and Hendrick Musi, who presided over the multimillion-rand Arms Deal Inquiry will face an investigation by the Judicial Service Commission.

The pair had cleared former president Jacob Zuma of any wrongdoing in the 1999 military procurement project.

But will this come back to bite them?

The JSC confirmed to etv news on Tuesday, that it’ll investigate a complaint lodged by non-profit groups, Open Secrets,

and Shadow World Investigations against the two judges in question.

Hennie van Vuuren, Director at Open Secrets joined us from London and says this is an incredible milestone.

He feels there was a massive disregard of key evidence.

Andrew Feinstein who's a Director at Shadow World Investigations believes it’s incredibly important

to hold judges who are prepared to whitewash crimes like corruption, accountable, otherwise our democracy simply won’t work.
