CPUT completes Varsity Shield double

The Cape Peninsula University of Technology is reveling in the sweet taste of silverware once again.

The side made it two Varsity Shield titles from two attempts when they pipped the Walter Sisulu University to defend the title they claimed in 2019.

It took extra time in Sunday’s final to separate the sides but in the end it was the men in blue who romped to victory.

CPUT head coach, Alastair Theys joined us to talk to us about those nerve-wracking final moments and the celebrations that followed.
