Voter registration set for July

The Electoral Commission of South Africa says it will consider pushing back the local government elections should a health crisis arise in the lead up.

The IEC's Chief Electoral Officer, Sy Mamabolo says they will closely monitor the situation and rely on the advice of the health authorities. 

Mamabolo added that COVID-19 protocols will be implemented during the voter registration that will take place on the 17th and 18th of July.
