AKA tells his side of the story
Rapper AKA has for the first time revealed what happened on the day his fiancé Anele Tembe fell to her death.
AKA, whose real name is Kiernan Forbes, sat down with broadcaster, Thembekile Mrototo, in an interview produced by BarLeader TV on YouTube.
Tembe died last month, after she fell from the 10th floor, of the Pepperclub Hotel in Cape Town.
During the interview, AKA revealed that Tembe had threatened to kill herself, by jumping off the balcony, during a heated argument they had on that fateful day.
He said that’s when he decided to remove himself from the situation, and went to the bathroom. When he came out, Tembe had taken her own life. AKA also denied claims he abused his fiancé and said he treated the late 22-year-old like gold.
During the interview, AKA used the word “passion” to describe the couple’s relationship and many people have asked where to draw the line between passion and aggression. For more on this, we had a chat to Clinical Psychologist, Asha Dullabh, who says aggression can contaminate the passion very quickly in a relationship.
