IEC’s focus turns to SA youth

It's all hands on deck as the countdown to the local government elections in October begins.

The Electoral Commission announced today that its technically ready and that all COVID-19 protocols will be followed.

Voter registration will take place on the weekend of 17 and 18 July at 23 000 voting stations.

Commission CEO Sy Mamabolo says the challenge is to get young people registered.

It’s hoping to use online platforms to encourage the youth to vote.
