Africa icon Kenneth Kaunda dies

Former President Thabo Mbeki says today is a very sad day for the African continent.

He spoke to us on Thursday following the news of African liberation struggle icon Kenneth Kaunda’s death.

The 97-year-old was admitted to a military hospital in Lusaka this week where he died. Mbeki joined us on Thursday to speak about his contribution to our country and the African continent.

He says the former Zambian president played an integral part in South Africa’s liberation struggle.
