Madiba's life in wax statues

The Nelson Mandela Museum in Mthatha in the Eastern Cape has launched a new exhibition. It documents the life of struggle icon Nelson Mandela.

The exhibition of 30 wax figures depicts Madiba's life from when he was just a boy in Qunu to his later years. The realistic wax statues were created by a KwaZulu-Natal artist, Lungelo Gumede.
