NPA to take on TRC cases
The National Prosecuting Authority and the Hawks are set to forge a closer working relationship
to prosecute former apartheid police officer, Joao Rodrigues.
Rodrigues is on trial for the murder of anti-apartheid activist, Ahmed Timol.
The two law enforcement agencies also wish to pursue other perpetrators of apartheid-era crimes.
The NPA holds firm that those who are responsible for these crimes will be held accountable sooner or later.
NPA Spokesperson, Sipho Ngwema, says resources have been allocated, including retired prosecutors, to look into these cases.
