Should elections take place?

The safest time to have local government elections is once 80% of our population is vaccinated.

That’s the view of leading vaccinologist, Professor Shabir Madhi and the Head of the South African National Aids Council Dr Fareed Abdullah.

They shared their expert opinions at the Moseneke Inquiry.

The Inquiry is conducting public hearings into whether the elections will be free and fair under lockdown. 

Both of these prominent health scientists believe we will see a fourth wave in October.
