WC COVID-19 cases surpass 1st wave peak

With the highly transmissible Delta variant driving the third wave surge in the Western Cape, public health experts warn of a looming peak as severe, if not worse, than the second wave.

The province has over 18 500 active cases and has already surpassed its first wave peak, recording a 51% spike in infections week on week.
