E Cape villagers take matters into their own hands
Residents from a village outside eMaxesibeni in the Eastern Cape are on a mission to get their own clean water supply.
The villagers have started digging trenches to install pipes which they say will be connected to a water source on a nearby mountain.
But they’ve also had to dig deep into their pockets to get the project going.
And in a village where most people are unemployed and many receive social grants funding the project has been a challenge.
