Private sector steps in amid vaccine rollout

Over the last week we’ve seen the private sector boost the vaccine drive by offering jabs to those who don’t have medical aid. That’s only one part of how the private sector is stepping in to help as we ramp up towards President Cyril Ramaphosa’s goal of 300 000 vaccinations a day.

Dr Stavros Nicholaou is the Business for South Africa’s health lead and senior executive with Aspen Pharmacare. He says they are currently doing a third of that number and he says conversations are ongoing about opening up more vaccination sites.
