Cape taxi services resume after ceasefire
Taxi services in Cape Town returned to normal today following a bloody week which saw seven people killed.
Two taxi associations Cata and Codeta were allegedly engaged in a fight over lucrative routes but an urgent meeting between the provincial government, the SA National Taxi Council as well as the two taxi associations saw a peace deal brokered, at least for the time being.
Western Cape Transport MEC, Daylin Mitchell joined us to tell us more about the agreements made in that meeting and the way forward. He says it was a constructive meeting and that there was a commitment for peace by all the stakeholders.
