Medical association calls for help from government

The South African Medical Association, is calling for urgent intervention from national and provincial governments, to address critical staff and medical supply shortages in the wake of the unrest.

Healthcare workers have been unable to travel to work, and many of private practises and clinics have been ransacked.

Dr Akhtar Hussain is the Chairperson of Sama’s Employed Doctor’s Forum, in practice in Durban.
