Hindu body lays unrest related complaints

An organisation representing the Hindu community in the country has laid criminal charges with police and approached the South African Human Rights Commission.

The complaint relates to this month's civil unrest which the South African Hindu Maha Sabha believes was an attempt at insurrection. The SAHMS condemned the racial violence which played out during the chaos calling on police to arrest all perpetrators.

Ashwin Trikamjee the president of the SA Hindu Maha Sabha says we cannot allow this kind of incitement to continue.
