Raising money for Olympic athletes

South Africa’s two Olympic medallists Tatjana Schoenmaker and Bianca Buitendag may have returned home to a hero’s welcome but the battle over whether or not they would receive bonuses for their performances soon overshadowed their incredible achievements for the country.

While the debate raged on and Sascoc flip-flopped on the matter members of the public decided to step in and do what they believed was right - find the money to thank our athletes. So far more than R300 000 has been raised.

The campaign was started by Mike Sharman the founder of MatchKit who spoke to us earlier.
