ANC withdraws electoral court application

Political Analyst Tessa Dooms believes there may be a number of reasons that led the ANC to withdraw its application to the electoral court at the last minute. The party wanted the IEC to reopen candidate registration for the upcoming local government elections.

In a statement released today, the party explained that it will now wait for a Constitutional Court decision on whether this year’s local government elections can be postponed as per the IEC’s request.
