COVID jab compulsory for Discovery staff

Discovery has announced that it will make vaccines mandatory for its employees from next year.

This mandate won’t just apply to all employees but also all its suppliers as well as visitors.

Discovery says it's studying its legal options and will consider objections from employees on a case-by-case basis.

It says only if all other options to accommodate the employee are impossible will it consider possible dismissal.

The insurance giant has described the vaccine as being fundamental in the fight against COVID-19.

Discovery Health CEO Ryan Noach says more than half of its workforce are already vaccinated.
