Limpopo pit toilets

More than seven years ago five-year-old Michael Komape drowned after he fell into a pit toilet at the school he attended in Limpopo.

The Limpopo education department's slow progress to eradicate pit toilets was ruled as unconstitutional on Friday.

The department has been given 90 days to submit a revised plan to get rid of pit toilets at schools.

Section27 helped the Komape family to take the case to court.
