W Cape trauma cases spike

Western Cape Health says its facing a trauma epidemic as the province recorded its highest single day of trauma cases this year at 621 incidents.

The cases mostly gunshot wounds and alcohol-fuelled incidents coincided with the ease in lockdown restrictions to adjusted lockdown level one and local trauma units are taking strain.
