SA joins COVID-19 antiparasitic drug trial
Two South African medical institutions have joined the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine to test whether an antiparasitic drug can help treat COVID-19 patients. The trial will start off at one site in Gauteng and another in the Western Cape.
Scientists who are leading the charge say they hope the drug will be effective as it’s cheap and has proven to work in other parts of the world.
