'We need to move forward'

As we head into the busy festive season, event organisers are in another tight spot with the onset of the fourth COVID-19 wave. For some, it means completely cancelling their planned events, which has left companies fuming.

The organiser and founder of the Ballito and Plettenberg Bay Rage festivals for one has lashed out at the media. He says it's hysteria and panic that resulted in them being cancelled. Both events were called off last week after staff and festival goers tested positive for COVID 19.

Professor Venter Francois Venter from Wits University says the sector needs to open up sensibly.
