About
Sean receives a coded signal from an uncharted island which he suspects was sent by his long-missing grandfather. With his stepfather Hanks, he sets out in pursuit of his grandfather and the island.
It has been four years since the previous adventure. Seventeen-year-old Sean is arrested by the police after a brief chase on his dirt bike. His stepfather Hank arrives when a police officer friend calls him, explaining that Sean had broken into a satellite control centre.
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island is a science fiction comedy film that was produced and directed by Brad Peyton and Beau Flynn, Tripp Vinson and Charlotte Huggins. Journey to the Center of the Earth (2008) became a sequel following the first film based on Jules Verne's The Mysterious Island (1874). It stars Dwayne Johnson, Michael Caine, Josh Hutcherson, Vanessa Hudgens, Luis Guzmán, and Kristin Davis. The storyline was written by Richard Outten, Brian Gunn and Mark Gunn, and the screenplay by Brian and Mark Gunn.
