Africa’s first COVID antigen test developed in SA

The continent’s first COVID-19 antigen testing kit has been developed in South Africa. 

This week a Cape Town-based company received the South African Health Products Regulatory Authority’s approval for its COVID-19 antigen testing kit.

The SA Medical Research Council,  the Science and Innovation Department, and Technology Innovation Agency invested in the 18 month project which has finally tasted success.
