Calls for basic income grant to be rolled-out

With the Reserve Bank estimating that 370 000 jobs will be lost during the lockdown,

there’s been mounting pressure on the Finance Minister, Tito Mboweni,

to make a decision on the introduction of a basic income grant.

Mbowni say a final decision has not yet been made.

Matthew Parks, Cosatu’s Parliamentary Coordinator provided some insight.
