Calls for prisoner release amid COVID-19

Naledi Moleo spoke to the National Spokesperson of Correctional Services Singabakho Nxumalo for an update.

According to Nxumalo a decision is yet to be made on whether offenders will be released amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

So far prisons in the Eastern Cape are the hardest hit, with a total of 87 infections of which 56 are inmates and 31 officials.
