How SASSA plans to iron out problems
It has been a busy week for South Africa’s Social Security Agency (Sassa).
It was unable to keep up with processing applications, while its call centre received more than 9 000 phone calls per hour.
A computer glitch also led to more than 430 000 beneficiaries being paid double this week, while others received no money.
Naledi Moleo spoke to the National Spokesperson of SASSA, Paseka Letsatsi, to find out how it plans to avoid the same challenges in the future.
