Sadtu calls for schools to be closed
The South African Democratic Teachers Union wants schools to close until the COVID-19 peak is over.
The union’s National Executive Committee held a special meeting on Tuesday to discuss schooling amid the recent spike in COVID-19 infections.
The union says the rate of community transmissions, has increased since the reopening of schools, and this will inevitably affect schools.
