Velaphi Sokhulu is spiralling out of control, gripped by a dangerous addiction to Vutha Juice—an energy drink secretly laced with the drug ecstasy. Desperate for his next fix, he crosses every moral line, stealing from his own family and deceiving those who trust him most. He even manipulates MaDlamini, convincing her to lend him money by falsely claiming it’s for her grandmother, Nomsa.

But lies have short legs. When MaDlamini discovers the truth, outrage sweeps through the tight-knit community of Esihlahleni. Furious at his betrayal, the villagers are ready to teach Velaphi a harsh lesson. Just when mob justice seems inevitable, his uncle Chuma steps in, dragging him away from the angry crowd. Determined to break Velaphi’s addiction, Chuma takes extreme measures—chaining him to his bed, locking his ankles in place.
