Several years ago, Conrad Stonebanks (Mel Gibson) and Barney Ross (Sylvester Stallone) co-founded the Expendables. Ross, or so he believed, was compelled to assassinate Stonebanks after the latter started dealing weapons.

In order to put an end to the Expendables, Stonebanks has returned. Ross determines that the only way to combat old blood is with new blood, so he puts together a group of younger, faster, and tech-savvy recruits. Old-school tactics vs cutting-edge knowledge collide in the fight to overthrow Stonebanks.
