WIN A TRIP TO TURKEY 2023

TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

Acceptance

 

  1. I agree and undertake that I shall be bound by and comply with these terms and conditions for entry to the WIN A TRIP TO TURKEY 2023 Competition (“the Competition”). I understand and agree that in the event that I fail to comply with these terms and conditions of entry for any reason that my entry shall not be eligible and I shall be disqualified from the Competition. Whether there has been a failure to comply with these terms and conditions shall be decided in e.tv (Pty) Ltd’s sole discretion, and shall be final and binding upon any potential entrant.

 

Terms and Conditions of Entry

 

  1. In order to be able to enter the Competition and to be eligible to comply with these terms and conditions of entry, it is a condition that the person must be a resident of the Republic of South Africa and 18 years of age or older.

 

  1. The person must be available to travel during the months of October 2023- March 2024 (dates are subject to change).

 

  1. The entrant must meet the following travel requirements: (a) they must have a South African passport that is valid at the time of entering the competition and for at least 6 months from the date of the trip in September/October 2023 (b) they must be available to travel on the selected dates for the tour; and (c) they must be able to arrange their own transfers locally to O.R Tambo International Airport.

 

  1. The Promoter of the Competition is e.tv (Pty) Ltd (“e.tv”).  Any person who is an employee of e.tv or any of its affiliated companies and/or any other agent, promoter and/or other person connected with the Competition and/or a member of their family, shall not be allowed to enter the Competition and shall be ineligible to participate. If any such person should enter then they will be automatically disqualified.

 

  1. e.tv shall be entitled at its sole discretion to declare that any entry is not to be entered for the WIN A TRIP TO TURKEY Competition and is disqualified. In such event e.tv shall not be obliged to the person who has entered of their disqualification nor shall it be obliged to provide a reason for its decision nor shall it be liable for any damages in law.

 

  1. All decisions of e.tv shall be final and binding and e.tv shall not enter into any correspondence, dialogue and/or otherwise with any person regarding any aspect of the Competition.

 

 

 

 

 

Prize(s) and Duration of Competition

 

8.          The prize(s) shall consist of 10 x of the following (each individual can only win one set of the below):

 

    1. Economy Return flights to Turkey for dates to be confirmed
    2. Transport from airport to hotel upon arrival, and upon departure.
    3. 4 nights’ accommodation including breakfast.
    4. e.tv shall arrange for obtaining visas to Turkey.
    5.        Selected tours.
    6. Please note the below with regard to requirements that need to be met in order to win the prize.

 

 

  1. Throughout the duration of the trip, prize winners are responsible for payment of their own travel insurance and medical aid.

 

  1. Prize winners will be required to sign an indemnity form in order to participate in the trip.

 

  1. Prize winners must have a credit card, which hotels may keep a record of as a condition of your stay in such hotels.

 

  1. Last years winners of the Trip to Turkiye competition which took place in September to October 2022 are not eligible to win this years prize.

 

  1. The Competition starts on Wednesday 23rd August 2023 at 6.00pm South African time and ends on Friday 6th October 2023 at midnight (1 minute after 11.59 on 9 September 2023). There are 10 people that will be selected as winners for the competition.

 

 

Cost and Method of Entry

 

  1. To enter the competition, you will need to watch “KuierTyd” on channel eExtra.

 

  1. KuierTyd contains a block of 4 Turkish drama programs that broadcast from 6.00pm-10.00pm.

 

  1. Entrants to look for a “character pop-up” which will be revealed during these times.  

 

  1. The Entrant will then need to SMS the show name that they are viewing and the name of the character that is revealed to 33103.  

 

  1. For more chances to win, character pop-ups will also appear in all other Afrikaans-dubbed shows on e.tv, eExtra and ePlesier.

 

  1. Entries will only be accepted via Text message. SMS’s are charged at SMS rates; FREE SMS’s DO NOT APPLY.

 

  1. Entrants will thereafter receive a return SMS to complete information. The information will include a request for the entrant’s name, number and address (including the province of the Entrant).

 

  1. Please note that 20 entrants will be selected to participate in a 2 night exclusive game show called “TURKWOOD SUPER FANS” where participants will be questioned on Turkwood telenovela trivia.

 

  1. However, Game Show Participants will only attend one of the nights of the Game Show and will not be required to attend both nights of the Game Show. Game Show Participants will be informed of which night they will have to attend.

 

  1. Only 10 winners will be selected from the Game Show and will win the prizes as described at paragraph 8.

 

  1. The Game Show will be hosted at the Cape Town e.tv studios and may be broadcast and posted on social media of e.tv and affiliated platforms. Game Show participants who live outside of the Western Cape shall be flown to the Western Cape during these dates and provided accommodation within the Western Cape for the applicable 1 (one) night in which they are participating in the Game Show.

 

  1. If the Game Show participants are not available for the particular date on which they are due to appear on the Game Show, the participant must inform e.tv of this, in which case new entrants will be selected in order to ensure that there are 20 participants for the Game Show.

 

  1. All costs incurred by Entrants and Game Show Participants are their own personal responsibility.

 

 

Prize Winners

 

  1. An independent external organisation will verify all eligible entries with regard to the question to be answered to be eligible for selection to the Game Show. Entrants who qualify for the Game Show will be randomly selected.  The winners will be contacted by e.tv during October 2023 and it will be verified that they meet all travel requirements.  

 

  1. The decision made by the independent external organisation as to who qualifies to participate in the Game Show will be final.

 

  1. This independent external organisation will verify that the Game Show has been conducted in a fair manner.

 

  1. The chosen Game Show participants will be notified telephonically within (48) hours of the competition closing date by e.tv or the independent external organisation of their selection to participate in the Game Show. e.TV can decide at its sole discretion that the timescale for notification needs to be extended for any reason.

 

30.        The prize can only be awarded and/or taken by the 10 people who win the Game Show. There is no alternate prize or cash available should the prize winner not want the awarded prize, nor is e.tv obliged to exchange and/or transfer any prize to another person.

 

31.        Last years winners of the Trip to Turkiye competition which took place in September to October 2022 are not eligible to win this years prize.

 

 

Changes to Terms and Conditions of Entry and Prizes

 

32.        e.tv reserves the right at its sole discretion to withdraw and/or substitute any prize at any time for any reason. e.tv may replace and/or substitute any prize with any products, goods, services and/or cash which it decides is appropriate in the circumstances.

 

33.        e.tv may at any time decide to change, cancel, amend, vary, delete, add to, and/or otherwise alter the terms and conditions of entry, the prizes and/or any other part of the Competition.

 

 

Personal Information

 

34.        All entrants hereby consent to e.tv processing their personal information for the purpose of this Competition. The personal information which is submitted for the Competition will be held by the e.tv. This information will only be shared with third parties involved with the Competition for the administration of the Competition and Game Show and/or the supply and delivery of the prizes. The personal details will only be held for 24 months (2 years) from date of competition entry and will then be destroyed and/or deleted.

 

 

Force Majeure and Law

 

35.        Where for any reason beyond the reasonable control of e.tv the Competition cannot be carried out and/or completed as planned and/or advertised, then e.tv reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any time and in such event shall not be liable to any person.

 

36.        The terms and conditions of this Competition shall be subject to the Laws of The Republic of South Africa.

 

 

Publicity

 

37.        Winners shall potentially have their names and prizes published on e.tv/eMedia Investments and e digital platforms. All entrants agree to the following publicity and marketing: [Online/social media platforms/ on air platforms]. All entrants agree to share their names and/or photographs through the following publicity and marketing: e.tv and its affiliated companies online/social media platforms/ on air platforms. The entrant acknowledges that your entry and/or video or post may be shared by e.tv on social media. The sharing of a video online does not signify that a participant has won the competition.
