against suspects linked to the robbery at a luxury car dealership in Cape Town.

This comes just days after Police Minister Bheki Cele,
announced encouraging breakthroughs in the case,
even linking the matter to an extortion racket, holding Cape businesses to ransom.

Alleged crime boss Nafiz Modack in court

Alleged underworld kingpin Nafiz Modack has finally had his day in court after his arrest last week. Today he appeared in court in connection with the attempted hit on defence lawyer William Booth. He's also been linked to the murder of Cape anti-gang detective Charl Kinnear and will appear in court later this week on that matter.
Modack's appearance necessitated a strong police presence and police minister Bheki Cele also attended proceedings. Our reporter Natalie Malgas was there and gave us an update.

Alleged members of notorious KZN gang in court

Four alleged members of a notorious KwaZulu-Natal gang, appeared in court today.
They allegedly terrorised residents of Pietermaritzburg, Imbali, Bergville and Richmond.
They were arrested yesterday by police during an intelligence driven operation.

Alleged terror mastermind arrested again

A former alleged terror accused and four others appeared in the Durban Magistrate’s Court today. The men, who cannot be named by order of the court, were arrested by police during a raid on Friday. They were found in possession of military-grade weapons,
thousands of rounds of ammunition, diamonds and jewellery.

Alleged cop killer denies meeting hitman

A former Tembisa cop has denied carrying out hits on her relatives and boyfriend.
Rosemary Ndlovu is on trial at the high court, sitting in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court in Johannesburg. She is accused of hiring hitmen to kill her sister and her five children in Tembisa. It was allegedly all part of a sinister plan to cash in on life insurance policies worth R1.4 million rand. She faces charges of murder, attempted murder or conspiring to commit murder, defeating the ends of justice and fraud.
On the witness stand today Ndlovu appeared stoic and at times arrogant.
