It was a devastating and emotional morning for the family of Mthokozisi Ntumba.
The 35-year-old was killed when police opened fire on a group of protesting Wits University students. Police Minister Bheki Cele visited Ntumba’s family today.
Cele’s spokesperson Lirandzu Themba joined us for an update on the visit.
She says the family is disappointed with how police handled the situation.

CCMA flooded by complaints

South Africa does not enforce mandatory vaccines. Yet the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration is dealing with an increasing number of complaints from employees who say they have been fired or retrenched for not getting vaccinated.
Companies have the right to decide on their own internal policies and medical aid scheme, Discovery, was one of the first to announce that it would make vaccinations mandatory from the 1st of January. But some employees insist they are protected by the Labour Relations Act and the Constitution. CCMA director Cameron Morejane believes a dismissal should not be the first option when someone refuses to get vaccinated.

Will 5G cause chaos?

Major American airlines are warning of a ‘catastrophic aviation crisis’ in less than 36 hours as a result of 5G. Mobile phone operators, A&T and Verizon are set to launch their new 5G service while the chief executives of major airlines say this will ground their aircraft which will result in chaos. The airlines believe the C-band 5G signals will disrupt the navigation systems of airplanes especially those flying in bad weather. Aviation expert Linden Birns says these systems are crucial for any aircraft.
