Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo will deliver his ruling on whether he will recuse himself as chair of the State Capture Commission of Inquiry.

The application was brought by former president Jacob Zuma.

In a statement Zondo said he will make the ruling at 3PM on Wednesday afternoon.

‘Miss K’ continued with her testimony at the Zondo Commission on Thursday.

The identified witness is employed the State Security Agency and was part of a team that conducted internal investigations at agency.

She’s been confirming the findings of those investigations at the inquiry.

Dr. Zondo’s Crossroads

In an unexpected turn of events, Norma Mngoma, the estranged wife of former finance minister, Malusi Gigaba has withdrawn from the state capture commission.
Mngoma was expected to take the hotseat at the inquiry
and provide details into her husband’s relationship with the Guptas.
Mngoma and Gigaba have been in an acrimonious marriage,
for some time now. It culminated in her arrest last year,
which she claims was orchestrated by her estranged husband.
Mngoma’s attorney read out her letter at the commission earlier,
detailing her withdrawal. Our reporter Riante Naidoo has been monitoring
the situation and joined us.

Journalist Hopewell Chin’ono was released on strict bail, after he spent 45 days in detention on charges of inciting public violence.

Chin’ono was arrested on 20 July, together with opposition politician Jacob Ngarivhume.

They were charged with urging people to join an anti-corruption protest.
